2024 Genesis G90 Oil Filter
Genesis Oil Filter service at Genesis of Peoria in Peoria, AZ Frequently Asked QuestionsFrequently Asked Questions
6 common questions answered
Is the oil filter replaced every time a 2024 Genesis G90 has its oil changed?Replacing the oil filter with the oil is the appropriate approach for a 2024 Genesis G90 oil and filter service. The filter captures debris carried by the oil, and a loaded filter can open its bypass valve so unfiltered oil circulates. The manufacturer’s maintenance schedule and the vehicle’s service history determine the broader service timing.
- Engine-matched filter installation
- New gasket or washer where applicable
- Leak check after the engine runs
What is included in an oil filter replacement on a 2024 Genesis G90?An oil filter replacement includes a filter matched to the engine, a new drain plug gasket or washer where used, and a post-run leak check. The filter holds debris removed from the circulating oil. After installation, the engine is run so the filter seal can be inspected. Genesis of Peoria can help arrange this service in Peoria.
- Engine-specific filter fitment
- Renewed drain plug sealing component
- Inspection for leaks at the filter seal
What happens if the oil filter on a 2024 Genesis G90 is not replaced?A loaded filter can open its bypass valve, allowing oil to circulate without filtration. The engine still receives oil, but it stops receiving filtered oil, which allows captured debris to remain in circulation. Replacing the filter with the oil maintains a fresh filtration point for debris carried away during engine operation.
- Debris is collected by the filter
- A loaded filter may open the bypass valve
- Unfiltered oil can then circulate
Does a 2024 Genesis G90 need a specific oil filter?Yes, the filter must be matched to the 2024 Genesis G90’s 3.5-liter, six-cylinder V6 engine. Filters are not interchangeable across engines because fit and oil-flow requirements can differ. The correct filter is selected for this engine without relying on a universal fit. Genesis of Peoria can perform the replacement as part of an oil and filter service.
- 3.5-liter engine displacement
- Six-cylinder V6 layout
- Filter matched to this engine
Can the oil be changed on a 2024 Genesis G90 without changing the filter? The oil can be changed separately, but replacing the filter with the oil keeps filtration aligned with the service. The filter holds debris removed from the oil and can eventually load, opening its bypass valve. The manufacturer’s schedule, an inspection, and the vehicle’s service history help determine the appropriate maintenance work.
- Oil carries debris away from engine components
- The filter captures that debris
- A fresh filter supports the new oil
